How I Learned To Create Websites More Than A Decade Ago
by Cecile Cinco
I’m the type of person who would hunt for the steps on how to do things, if not by what’s available, by experiment. In short, I’m a DIY person.
A decade ago, even 15 years ago, information overload became a household term. The internet was the latest avenue for learning. It was the new tool to travel and see the whole world. Everything was at the tip of your fingers.
Having multiple interests, I learned using my new toy back then. Almost everything was free. The internet connection is what was expensive. I learned HTML the hardcoding way. At that time, the famous website creator was Hotdog, I think, but I did not get to use it because my “teacher” said it was better to learn the barebones using Notepad. And so I did.
Now, the internet has been more jam-packed with information. You can even translate from one never-heard language to your language. Although many marketing how-tos are available on the net, offline tasks can also be learned like taking Plumbing Courses. It’s all under your fingertips.
The next time you’re itching to know something, get the help of your mouse.
