One Important Ingredient Of Telemarketing That’s Often Neglected
by Cecile Cinco
When I was new to the real estate business, I was taught how to talk through the phone. I may have been on the net way before I got myself into the real estate and I may have preferred the online communication than offline, I had to learn the old school way. I wanted to, anyway, so I know how to improve on it and combine what they know and what I know to turn it into something “magical.”
During my first few weeks of training, part of the training courses is Telephone Etiquette. Not that I learned only that time but what stuck in my mind was that you have to smile when you talk to the person listening to you at the other end of the line because it transcends the unseen barrier. If you smile, the other person feels it and listening to you is a pleasure especially if you are selling something.
This is especially important if you are in the selling business and you do telemarketing. Telemarketing is still the trend of businesses that thrives through local market. We may hi-technically connected with all gadgets and gizmos but there still exists a fruitful market that prefers offline communication like the ole phone.
Even if you’re not in selling, it is always best that good things come from you towards others. A smile is easy to make. It’s free and it’s good to your health. Give it away and see how much you will reap.
As Charlie Chaplin wrote…
Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it’s breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you’ll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through for you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what’s the use of crying?
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smileThat’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what’s the use of crying?
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
If a smile can mend a broken heart and make you go on, it can also lighten the heart of the person hearing your voice behind the telephone.
