Some years ago, in 2000 if I’m not mistaken, I was complaining of back ache. It’s more of hip ache. Since we lay on the marble floor with just a mat in between the floor and our backs, I thought the cold floor was the reason why I got those aches.
One day an iridologist came to visit the town offering free checkup. He checked my eyes and saw 3 unhealthy signs: asthma, some blockage in my artery, and kidney infection was starting (which was the reason of my back ache).
He had something to sell and it had something to do with sharks and some other animal I don’t remember now. Anyway, I did not take it. Aside from the lack of money, I did not like the source of his medicinal cure. I just wanted to know what’s wrong and ask what else I can do that does not cost much and hopefully it was natural as possible.
Guess what? He prescribed water! Drink at least 15-20 glasses of water everyday. I did! I tend to drink less because I forget, besides I’m not usually thirsty and if I’m busy, water is usually the last thing I get. But at that time I was really decided to drink the prescribed volume of water. It wasn’t easy. Every 15 minutes I was releasing the previous intake but it felt good. I had to tally literally and post it on the wall so I can see how much more I needed to drink. I’d rather do this tedious task than to feel syringes prick my arms or hips.
In less than 2 weeks, the back ache or hip ache was gone.
A couple of weeks ago I learned something new. Drink 4 glasses of water as soon as you wake up and your first solid intake should be at least 45 minutes later, and don’t drink much or not at all while eating and you only drink about 2 hours after.
The first cleanses your body waste over the night and the latter prevents your digestive acid not be diluted. This method is said to cure many illnesses including some cancers. The more sick you are the longer time you need to stick with the regimen like some illnesses will just require a month but others will require 3 months or so. A lifetime is not bad at all even if you’re very well and healthy.
I’ve been strictly doing the first (drinking 4 glasses of water first thing in the morning) and about 90% the second (not drinking while eating) and I can say that it’s doing me good. My asthma attack had dropped considerably despite the heat that we’re experiencing this summer (Philippine summer) and I’ve lessened my coffee intake just naturally. (Coffee is good, I know. It’s actually my cure for asthma. But too much of it robs me off my calcium.)
Disclaimer: For those who are water restricted by their doctors like kidney failure patients, ask your doctor first. Although water is a natural diuretic, I know that too much water for such people will need them to go under dialysis sooner than scheduled otherwise the patient bloats and even gets water in the lungs.
For everybody else, why not drink water liberally? It can only do you good. Just make sure that when you travel, you know where to get a leak.
