For the past few days I’ve been busy with getting in touch with long lost friends. I don’t mean less than 10 years. I mean at least 15 years!
I’ve been putting off signing up with Facebook until a few days ago I could not help but always check to see if my old friends have already accepted my request.
The good thing with it is, since my circle of friends from more than a decade ago were already connected with each other, it did not take long for me to recognize their names. It was also surprising to see their kids! (As if I don’t have my set of growing kids!)
I’m also in Multiply and Friendster but I rarely update them. There’s something with Facebook. I think it’s the security. You can’t see any profile info unless you’re approved. You can see who the friends are, though. I know Friendster has this capability but it’s more like an acquaintance type of social networking. Facebook, on the other hand is more personal. Multiply is just like Friendster, I think.
I’m glad I signed up with Facebook. Not because it’s Facebook but because of the people I got in touch with after so long a time…
