It is human nature to be discontent. Many Filipinos would want to pair with Americans because of their complexion. Generally, Filipinos find caucasians beautiful. The Americans, on the other hand, love the complexion of Filipinos. They even get into tanning machines to get that morena look.
Filipinos would want to go to America, not only to uplift their financial situation but also to get the feel of the cool America, not realizing that American climate can go to extremes. By choosing that life, they miss the relaxed life in the Philippines. They have to have three jobs to sustain their living and still have something to send to their family in the Philippines, not to mention missing the closeness to their own family.
I know several Americans who chose to live in the Philippines because they could not stand the climate in America. In America they have to have a heating system for them to stand the winter. It’s an additional cost unless you install a tankless water heater which is cheaper than surging electric bills. In the Philippines, though, it may not be too hot nor too cold but sometimes, depending on the location, you will suffer lack of water. 
The point, you can’t have it all. Humans need to learn to be content and be able to adapt to certain situations.
