Being organized takes a level of skill. The good about it is everything is neat. An organized person knows where to find his/her stuff because he/she knew where he/she put it in the first place. The problem is, when you touch or move that person’s stuff and did not return it the way you found it, he/she gets lost.
Being chaotic takes a level of skill too. It may look easier to be chaotic than be organized but there is one thing he/she can do that an organized person takes too much stress doing–working under chaos. That person can shut off the noise and mess around and concentrate on his/her work. An organized person in the same situation will go nuts.
Sometimes surrounding chaos is a product of negligence, doing something of more importance. Sometimes, it’s the plain lack of place to stack stuff. Yes, it’s better to be organized, at least look organized. Better yet, be organized and yet not crack under chaos.
How?
1. Throw what you don’t need. Give away those that still work. Your trash can be someone else’s treasure.
2. Have some stackable containers to put your once-in-a-while-used stuff.
3. If you are a CD person and have a collection of music which you play now and then, the tendency is they are all scattered around when you don’t have a nice place to store them. Try one of the audio racks. When you have one, it’s more likely that you’ll use it, making you more organized.
