What A Mother Would Want

by Cecile Cinco

Before anything else, I’d like to greet all mothers and OIC-mothers a very warm Happy Mother’s Day! At this point in time, Mother’s Day in the Philippines and halfway across the globe is still current. The day may be ending soon here but it has just started in some parts of the earth. So it’s safe to say that we are all celebrating Mother’s Day.

We all know that a mother’s job is 24/7, 365 days a year, all the years of her life since she took the job. There may be some mistakes and let downs but a good mother will not give up. It’s not always giving what her child wants but what he or she needs. It may not always be popular but it is right in God’s sight.

This time of the year, it is one of those days that communication networks earn a lot. Sending a well-organized text message to a few, those few will resend to all the mothers they know…and the mother of all communication networks and her children earn a lot. :D As for me, I’m just not the forwarder type of person. It’s very unlike me. I’d rather send a simple original message as long as it’s from me.

Being a mother is not easy. Ask any father, they’ll get lost more often than not. For those OIC mothers, though, I salute you for going out of your way to do the responsibilities of a such a difficult job.

As any mothers, we are human too. We need some time to relax too. As for me, having that childhood dream still with me, to travel the world, spending 3 weeks max in each country, I’d like to experience one of those Outer Banks. Seeing them is really relaxing. I hope I can experience them, really. :)
