How Far Would You Go For Vanity’s Sake?
by Cecile Cinco
Solomon, in the latter years of his life, concluded that all is vanity.
How far would you go for vanity’s sake? Do you go for expensive names because of the quality and the status symbol attached to the items you buy not even caring how much each costs? Do you scour for sale and bargain items of the same expensive names just so you can brag about those names without hurting much your pocket? Or, you might be the type who would go for nameless stuff as long as the effect is the same at a fraction of the cost? On the farthest end, maybe you don’t you care at all and for you, what you are at the most natural state is the best, regardless if it’s beauty or not for others. Continue reading »

Struck With Flu AH1N1?
by Cecile Cinco
Thursday evening, I went to bed early at 7pm. I just felt tired and sleepy that I foregone watching Terminator 2 with the whole family. Dinner was, as usual, early at 6pm.
At 1am, though, I woke up chilling while my youngest was perspiring. My skin wasn’t hot. Temp from my neck felt normal. I took the thermometer, though, and got a 38.6C. Continue reading »

Health | Comment (0)One Way To Lessen The Environment’s Trash
by Cecile Cinco
If you search Google for plastic water bottles, the very first hit is about plastic bottles piling up as trash. Some recyclers can turn them into a raft-like water vessel, and others sell them to junk shops to melt them and turn them into water bottles again.
Did you know that it takes too much water just to make a bottle? If you realize it, it’s a waste of natural resources just to make something that can actually be avoided.
Why not buy your own personalized water bottles so you will not be part of the statistics that contribute to the destruction of Mother Earth? It takes less water to wash it for reuse.

Eco-Friendly, Solutions | Comment (0)Let There Be Light
by Cecile Cinco
If the sun did not exist, how can we? If there was no light where would we be? In total darkness!
Let’s go small-scale. In our homes, having no light when you live in the urban area is rather odd. When all your neighbors’ light shone and only you are in the dark, it could mean you were not able to pay the electric bill! That could be depressing for many. If you live in a rural area, having candles lit may not be awkward.
Light makes our lives easier but it’s lovelier if we can put something better. Progress lighting has many suggestions you can choose from. Go ahead and make your dream light come true.

by Cecile Cinco
I know there are practically thousands of ways to lose weight but you can generalize them to a few that cannot even fill all your fingers and toes. Exercise is one, diet is another. Appetite suppressant is one more and weight loss pills, another.
I’d like to ask specifically those using weight loss pilss. How long have you been using it? How much did you lose? Was there any side effect? How much did it cost?
By sharing your experience, you can help others decide.

by Cecile Cinco
About a month ago I attended an event about fashion. Several bloggers were invited including myself. In one incident, I was chatting with two of them and in our getting-to-know-each-other info exchanging I learned that one of them is a football player.
Assessing his stature, I thought it could not be, or it is unusual since he was rather small and petite for the football I had in mind. Besides, I didn’t know we had football at all!
It was then that I learned that soccer is called football here in the Philippines. All the while I was imagining American football. Since we understood each other at that moment, the chat became more interesting. His stature no longer mattered. In fact it was perfect for the sport. I wasn’t just able to ask how many soccer trophies he had already accumulated.

It is but human to choose the fastest solution. Existing in the world of instant, we’d like everything done fast, reached fast, finished fast, eaten fast, drank fast, and lost fast.
Many lose-weight-fast come-ons are seen every day offline and more especially so online. Many do work. The problem is, will they stay? Is there no side effect?
Have you tried ephedrine? What is your experience with it? Did it keep it’s promises? What’s the after-effect? Are you still using it? If you have stopped, why?
Let me know, ok?

My Diet Move
by Cecile Cinco
I used to have a sweatshirt which print I designed and it read: “I’ve been on a diet for two weeks and all I lost was two weeks!” I’ve lost the shirt too, and two decades too. I don’t remember how I lost the shirt.
I’m not obese nor am I slim. It seems that the problem manifests more on my belly than any other part of my body! If only I could chop it off with a butcher’s knife without getting hurt, perhaps I did long time ago.
Exercise should play a role in my slimming down but it’s a hard habit to build and an easy one to break. I know I should. So many excuses.
I got to do something, and I did. I lessened my rice intake. I just eat half cup of rice now with more viand than usual. I think it works, though slowly. Taking appetite suppressant is not yet on my list since I can still suppress it.
What about you?

Before You Pet A Dog Or Cat
by Cecile Cinco
Dogs and cats are two of the top selected pets…or so it seems. Dogs are man’s best friend and it looks like cat is favored by women…or so it seems.
We’ve had several dogs when I was still with my parents. They’re quite unique. All four caught mice. We’ve never had cats, though. With dogs such as the kind we had, we never needed any cat.
We never had a problem with fleas. One of my aunts, though, had a house of dogs. Her house. She had more than ten! And only two of them humans…she and her daughter. All dogs stayed inside the house.
She loved the dogs so much that she even feeds them using her own spoon! Whenever we visit, though, we could not stay long enough to enjoy. Not only that the house smelled dogs but the dogs have fleas.
Unless you really don’t want anybody staying in your house, if you want to have dogs or cats, make sure you can and will use something like Frontline. You won’t just be loving your pets but humans as well.

Pets, Solutions | Comment (0)How To Give More Than One Gift To The Same Person Within The Same Day: Facebook’s Farm Town Gift-Giving Glitch
by Cecile Cinco
Among the Facebook applications, Farm Town holds the record as the top 1 Most Frequently Played Game. At least, for me. There’s more to it than just clicking. It’s the closes to a real farm in terms of buying seeds, planting and harvesting. You get to choose yourself where and when to plant. You get others to harvest for you and they are paid or you can harvest it yourself. In addition, there is communication among the farmers. It’s a chat and play at the same time. You get to know people from other parts of the globe.
In addition to plain farming, you also get to beautify your farm with fences, houses, trees, flowers and even ponds. As you go up each level, some features gets unlocked. I’ve seen very beautiful farms. Although I can beautify mine now, I’ll wait till I can buy the largest farm I can buy. From level 15 and all the odd numbers till level 25, you get the option to buy land in addition to your existing land. Your farm gets bigger.
Farm Town gets addicting so if you haven’t started yet, don’t tell me I did not warn you. I just learned recently that there are even Farm Town cheats. It turns out that a matrix has been made to plot the price of seeds, the length of time it gets ready to be harvested, how long before each withers, how much to harvest and how much it gets sold for. Anyone can figure that out if given the time to spend on it. Somebody has done it, why reinvent the wheel, so to speak? My point is, that’s not a cheat at all.
I’ve done several searches and there exists a cheat. Actually several but the working one (as one claims) is a certain application you have to install. It makes your avatar 5x faster and other stuff it can do. I did not delve more into it because I don’t like it. It’s really a cheat. Though the fact that somebody was able to do it means the system is glitched. This glitch is selfish because it favors the player.
Gift-giving is glitched too but you don’t need anything else other than your browser to be able to send out more than 1 gift to the same person within the day. Besides, this glitch is outward. You give than receive. When you give, you don’t expect anything else in return but the natural law of giving compels the recipient to do the same. It would be the recipient’s choice to give in return or not.
So, you want to give more than what you can naturally give? Here’s how:
1. log into your Farm Town
2. click on Send Gifts
3. open several new tabs or windows to show the Send Gifts page
4. in each tab/window, choose the gift and the person/s you want to give the gift to but don’t click yet the final sending.
5. when you are done with all tabs/windows, click each final Send button. If you did 7 tabs/windows, the person/s will receive 7 gifts.
How many can you send? It all depends on your computer’s memory.

Space Management: How To Stack Your Stuff When You Have More Than Your Floor Space Can Hold
by Cecile Cinco
Two decades ago, the standard house for sale in a subdivision has 3 bedrooms big enough to fit 2 single beds and you still have some space in between. Now, that has changed to 2 bedrooms which can fit 1 bed. More and more 1-bedroom row houses are being built to accommodate families with low income to give the opportunity of owning a house. It’s not surprising that in most of the designs, you can reach the door from your bed!
It’s still better, though, to own a house instead of renting, but that’s a different topic. When you’re one of those wanting more space because you have more stuff your floor space can accommodate, then you might gain from this post.
Assuming you have your stuff like furniture, arrange them in a modular way. Arrange big items close to the wall. That way you have the walking space in the middle. Reaching to the left or right will be easier than having your walking space by the wall and everything else on the other side.
Keep stuff you don’t need but won’t throw away under the bed or in the farthest cabinet.
Use the wall. Instead of picture frames, install shelves or wall cabinets (then put your picture frames on the cabinet door if you so insist on displaying them). Hang your TV too. There are several tv stands that are designed to attach to the wall.
Use the ceiling. I’ve seen a small house where the clothes cabinet is hinged to the ceiling. The hinge is on the top front part, the ceiling serves as the cover. There is a hook at the bottom part that hooks to the ceiling when you bring the bottom up. I thought it was really cool. You just make sure you hinge it to the horizontal beam with big screws that can handle the weight of the filled cabinet.
When you’re yet buying:
Think modular. Modular furniture, for example, can follow the form of the space provided. You can rearrange them to fit.
Think stackable. Anything stackable saves space like monoblock chairs.
Think functional. If it’s mere display, think again.
Think multipurpose. If something can do more than one purpose, great! The more it can do, the better. I like my kitchen scissors. It has a can opener, bottle opener, grip, fish scaler, peeler, knife, flat screwdriver and sometimes I use it as a pot holder.

by Cecile Cinco
Computer was offline for a few days. Work hampered though it was diverted to other work (still) like having my sewing machine finish its job.
Computer broke down. As in, it would not boot at all. After a day’s rest, it would boot but it would snap out of life just when the xp logo comes out. At this time when we are finishing 2 websites, this incident cannot be. The computer must work. Continue reading »
