You Are What You Eat

by Cecile Cinco

You have heard of that saying, “You are what you eat.” When you eat oily foods, your face becomes oily and your body stores the fats especially somewhere around your waist. When you eat fruits, you get rosy cheeks. When you eat junk, your skin goes dry. Those are the general observations.

Skin problems occur, not only because of improper hygiene. Improper ingestion of “foods” also develop certain skin diseases like rashes, usually because the person eating is allergic to some extent.

Acne is another skin problem that may or may not be due to certain foods but the ugly result robs off the confidence in a person, especially teenagers and young adults. What can you do? Although some would just ignore it, many would resolve to an acne treatment just so they can face the world anew.

As another saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Know how your skin problems developed. Know the roots so you can know how to prevent getting them again.
