We all lack something. Someone is always better and we are also better than someone else. For the handicapped, though, they may think otherwise. They may feel very remorse out of self pity. Not for those who have found the solution to their loss.
Schools are available so we add to the knowledge we lack. As we step into first grade, we knew nothing. As we go the steps of the educational ladder, we become more equipped. We get to know how to compute. We learn to figure out if our change from the store is right. We learn to articulate and converse with others with better ease. We explore. We get educated for what we did not know.
Handicap is no different. I remember, when I was younger, I learned to write with my left hand (as I am right-handed). My reason? Just so if something wrong goes with my right hand, I can easily use my left. I also learned the alphabet in sign language. At least when I get to encouter someone that’s mute, we can still communicate. I tried to learn my way around the house while blindfolded. I wanted to be able to move with ease when it’s dark.
Handicap should not be a reason for people to give up. There are schools that will help them. For example, Canaan Barrie is a school for blind. I’ve had blind friends using Braille. I find it amazing! Maybe because I also love codes.
Seriously, there’s always a room for improvement. One is only competing against one’s self so improving one’s self is the solution for a better self. Always fill the room of improvement.
