What My Kitchen Needs

by Cecile Cinco

Last Sunday we moved to a new apartment. It is a lot better than the place we came from. At least there is one room. The old one is a long space with the kitchen at the end back to back with the bathroom. Ventilation was not good since air came from one window and the door from the front end and none from the back. We were planning to buy an exhaust fan focused on the kitchen but funds were not enough.

The new apartment was only a year old. It is nearby, two blocks away. The previous tenant left just a week prior to my discovery. Guess what. It has its own exhaust fan in the kitchen! The place is also cooler. Since it is the end unit there is no reason for other people to be in my area. Hubby did some saw and hammer tasks for hanging clean laundry just outside for drying, one in the bathroom and a couple by the kitchen sink for utensils and pans. I don’t need commercial kitchen equipment but at least I need a vertical shelving for my plates, bowls, tumblers, spoons and forks, and knives. I want one where no mouse, roach or fly can get into.
