I had to set up my ScribeFire again. With lots of blogs, it is not easy. It is actually tiring. I almost forgot the others. Good thing I have most of my domains in one hosting site. Just one of them is with another hosting site. After setting up all the blogs I counted and found out that I have 28 WordPress blogs and 5 Blogspot blogs. Actually I have some more blogspot blogs but I don’t care about them anymore.

Now my eyes are hurting. I got to retire for the night…zzzzz

I have installed Scribefire after a very long while I haven’t used it. Since I have several blogs, I tend to forget the others. With Scribefire, I can post all in one place and the list of my blogs are all listed. I just have to choose with a radio button so it wil post on the intended blog.

One of the good features of Scribefire is that the browser window can be split horizontally so I’m currently writing this while above the split is my real browser of tabs to different sites. That way, I can multitask to the max!

Scribefire is a Firefox add-on. Not sure if it’s available or not on other browsers, though.

More than a month ago, I joined BloggerLuv because I found out it has Facestream. BloggerLuv is one out of ten in the list that I joined that I go back to every so often. No longer because of Facestream (which has some problems at the moment) but because of the people. People are supportive of each other. The site owner, John, encourages bloggers to post their links as the site is dofollow.

I can say that it has come 2nd to my Facebook and even comes first even before I blog. I haven’t fully seen the whole site yet. There are lots I’d like to read. There are tons of things to learn from fellow bloggers. The community is alive and friendly.

I’m glad to be part of BloggerLuv! Hopefully, I can also be a source of learning as they are to me.

I’ve mentioned recently that I’ve joined an advertising company, Link From Blog, that will pay per review. I joined because my friend got paid. I was approved in a short while and when I was, I immediately looked for opportunities. There’s quite a number of them and I just bid on those that I think I would be able to blog about.

Frankly, I had been busy these past few days that oblivion struck me for a moment. It was only when I saw my own blog post that I realized I’d joined Link From Blog. I logged in right away. I wanted to know what happened to the bids I placed. I have 2 bids approved and the date was 5 days ago!

By the way, I wasn’t able to mention before that I had a sign-up bonus of $3. It takes $50 to cash out by PayPal but at least there are quite enough to reach that. Also, bonuses are given depending on the quality of posts. I think that’s good. It encourages bloggers to write better and not just put up the link and force it within the post.

So, again, I invite you bloggers to try it.

As a problogger (a blogger earning money through blogging), it is my natural inclination to find better ways and look around and learn from other bloggers’ experiences what work and what doesnt. Although there are a lot of scammers, there are still some that are for real, having honest-to-goodness good business ethics with bloggers…and paying is the number one barometer whether it’s for real or for kill.

Since my friend has been paid, it is my turn to rake the benefits as well….and that also includes you.

Last night I slept early–1am–and I had to wake up at 4:30am. So it’s been barely an hour since I woke up.

I was busy upgrading WordPress to the latest which is 2.7 Beta. What used to be up and down are now located on the left and on the right.

I was also trying to look for a new theme. I just noticed that with the current theme, I don’t see the link to the next page from the home page where it lists the latest posts. After the tenth post, I see no link to the 11th and beyond. The same is true when I choose a category and there are more than ten posts in that category. It did not resolve with upgrading to WP 2.7b so I’m pretty sure it’s with the theme. When I’ve chosen a theme I like which solves my problem, you’ll surely know about it.

I thought I have no chance to earn from surveys. I was wrong. When I joined, I was credited $6 right away. There were 5 short surveys worth $4 each and all you have to answer is a set of 3 sentences per website you review. There was also one bonus set for $1 but you have an entry to win $500.

My blog about World Travel is having a problem. I have existing 2 posts and was saving the 3rd but could not for some reason.

The permalink won’t even appear, nor the word count. The categories won’t record. Worst, everything is gone!

Several times I’ve tried to restart and repost but the same thing happens. I could not make a new post!

Has any of you encountered this kind of problem?

Many concerned bloggers have learned the following:

1. Pagerank matters especially if you are monetizing from your blog since most monetizing opportunities look for pagerank to determine how much you can be paid.

2. Using or not using ‘nofollow’ affects the pagerank.

3. If you don’t use ‘nofollow’ then you attract more spammers.

4. It will also discourage commenters.

5. But if you have a post that is worth commenting on, your readers will not care that much. He or she will comment anyway.

Leaving a worthy comment will at least give your link an opportunity to be clicked by interested visitors, which will add traffic to your site. If your blog is good enough for them to link to, then that is their prerogative and your gain, regardless if the link given to you is a nofollow link or not.

Count your blessings, anyway.

So how do you find out if a blog or link in a specific page is nofollow?

Ok, to give the purpose of this post…first you have to view the source code of the page where links to other blogs or comments are. There could be different ways to view the source code by different browsers. I’m using Firefox 3 and I only have to click Ctrl-U to view the source code. For Google Chrome, which I just installed, I’m still looking for that feature and everything else I’m used to doing with FF3 but that’s another story.

When the source code appears in another window, do a Ctrl-F to find a specific string. Try ‘nofollow’ since that is what we are trying to look for. If you found one, it doesn’t mean that every link has nofollow. Some blogs are selective so it is possible that certain links are nofollow-less. If there is none at all, then that blog gives away blog juice, knowingly or unknowingly.
