I have not all the time to listen to all entries but I know what I think will make an influence to the general public…or at least what I’d like to make an influence. I based my vote on the content and the ease of listening and since I have high regard on moral issues and optimism, I favor Himig Ng Kabataan by Slio Bulakenyo.

This is a wonderful opportunity to have new compositions out as OPM. I get irked at new singers/groups who know nothing to sing but revivals…and it takes me quite a long time for me to get irked so if I do, it means it’s worse. It doen’t mean, though, that any original will do. Actually, the highest voted entry is something I won’t listen to (I just did for the sake of knowing what it’s all about…Gago Ako (Filipino Jerk)…but with the trend the voting is going, it’s scary how depleted the quality of compositions most of the listeners want to listen to! I hope to hear more quality compositions out there…Go ahead and start listening and voting.

It’s nice to see that the Department of Trade is collaborating in promoting the Philippine talents with its current marketing slogan “7,107 islands beyond the usual” for a better country and tourist destination showcasing our cultural treasures.

Don’t just slap any ad. You can’t post the same ad and put it in several categories. You have to select the best cagegory you want your item be posted under. Several categories are available. Say if you have a clothing item and it’s for children, you have to choose whether you will put it under clothing or under children.

The site is arranged in a way you can do a search for an item, specify a category (or display all categories), and specify a region if you’d like to find or be found by buyers/sellers nearby or specific region (or, any region if you wish). There is also an option to display the cheapest available first and you can hide or show the available images for easy browsing. You also see when it’s posted and whether it’s from a company or a person.

There’s just a couple of things, though, that I wish could be included. The capacity to be an online store would really be good. Like, if I found something and I really wanted it, I can pay for it and it will display that it’s sold…that way I can be pretty sure I really got the item. The other thing is, I saw an ad that says it’s up for bid but I see no bidding buttons. I don’t think the company meant the site for bidding but the advertiser did…how is he/she going to go about it? I think the bidding will be nice too.

Give it a try. You can’t win the lotto if you don’t have a ticket, so to speak. Without the contest, I think AyosDito will make a name of its own. It would be nice, though, to take a chance on the contest too. Check it out right away.

This week, Monday, I was able to get hold of my latest bowling trophy and cash prize for winning the Highest Pinfalls under the female category. The bowling tourney was sponsored by the PA Alvarez, the developer of the St. Joseph Series in Laguna. There were ten teams in all with 12 players each. There were a total of 5 games and our team lasted only up to the 3rd. It was on that 3rd game that I made my top score, 154. Two more weeks for the last 2 games but I did not mind about it since I had to attend to something else.

After coming from Baguio last week, I was congratulated by one of my team players for topping the charts again, now for the 3rd time. Since the bowling tourney started in 2006, I’ve held the top score for the female category. The awarding was held on the day I was still in Baguio. Last Monday, though, I made a visit to our office to claim my cash prize and left the trophy at the office.

Bowling is a hobby I cannot play unless there’s a contest that sponsored since it’s a very expensive sport (at least for me). Back when I was learning how to bowl (1988) it costed me about 30 self-paid games for the first 2 weeks and it was cheap then. After that, I always look for someone who will challenge me for loser’s pay. I played with those who have been playing for more than a decade and that’s how I became very good. Bragging aside, but the last time I played was last year. This year, for the mere 3 games, I got the top record once again with the first 2 not good at all. Ahh…my first self-paid games when I was learning, paid off.
