Money seems to be everywhere except my own wallet! Oh well, there are some, usually enough for the day or two. We survive, though, and that is what really matters.

It seems, though, too, that a lot others are in the same situation. A few who got no money problems are on the top while the most who are always looking for money are below just like a pyramid base.

What is then the solution? There are several below. One or more may apply to you.

1. Work for it. This is the most common and normal way to have money. It is even biblical. “If any man does not work, neither shall he eat.” (2 Thes. 3:10) There are times (actually, oftentimes), though, that the money you earn from working is not enough. You need (or want?) more.

2. Ask parents. If you are still single, and your parents have the means, it will not be awkward to ask them from time to time. Even if you are married and have children and are in the middle of crisis, they can help in some ways like let you live with them for awhile so you do not have to spend for the rent.

3. Loan from friends. You may have friends who have ample supply of wad in their wallets. Borrowing from them during emergencies and paying them back little by little will help especially if they lend it without interest because you are friends.

4. Ask for payday advance. It is a loan but you do not have to pay much at a time. It is with some interest but you do not have to bother your relatives and friends. It is purely business and you do not have relatives to look down on you because they had to lend you money they rather not let you know about.

Even if all 4 failed, never make stealing or robbing an option. Remember you will not be given tests in life you cannot handle.

What do you think is the best invention of this century considering the scope, the many of people who benefit from the invention and how much is saved or how much is gained?

For me, I think it’s the internet. Communication, which is very important to make things better, just got speedier. Phones are no longer that needed since broadband needs no phone at all.

Although the internet is used for good as well as bad intentions, there are many good results that come out of the internet. When shopping, for example, you don’t need to tire yourself just to canvas for the best of whatever you’re looking for. The same is true when you’re looking for free insurance quotes. Just point and click and you’ll get the options available to you. Just as any offline canvasing, though, you still have to use your due diligence to find which is best among the options available.

I was never good in Math. I can survive somehow. I may not be able to solve fast but I can figure out ways to find an answer. If you can explain the problem to me in a sentence, I’ll most probably be able to answer. I said ‘most probably’ and not ‘surely,’ ok? Just a disclaimer there.

Since the first Adam, numbers already existed. It’s the most universal language anyone has the understanding of with the same meaning. When you hold up your hands, anyone from any country knows that we have normally ten fingers.

Counting has been a standard. It gives us the understanding how many, how much, how long, how fast, whatever is we are talking about. One of those most counted is money. Although money is the dirtiest paper that goes around, it is also the most loved piece in the whole world. People will forever be counting money. We will always have banks and banking jobs will always be available. Apart from online jobs, I think banking jobs will keep you close to where money is.

by Cecile Cinco

This morning I tried something which was my first. I sent money to my bank account (much like sending money to somebody else’s bank account) through Xoom. I’ve tried the door-to-door delivery about a year ago and it took the next day (perhaps it’s much faster now). I’ve tried pick-up most of the time for about 20 times already (still, sending money to myself) and the fastest record was under 2 minutes before it’s ready for pick up. Now, since the money was not meant to be touched, I tried to direct it straight to the bank.

I know I could have used PayPal’s withdraw-to-the-bank feature but that would need me to add another bank account since I have a different bank (Union Bank) attached to my PayPal. I don’t want my BPI Family Bank attached to my PayPal account so I took the best option: Xoom.

Below are screenshots of my transaction this morning (Philippine time). You will notice that the Xoom transaction log says that deposit is in progress but when I checked my BPI log, it’s already credited. I’ve highlighted the amount so you can see that it’s the same transaction.

Although it’s much cheaper to withdraw from PayPal to my attached bank (P50 under P7k), my priority was not to have my BPI bank attached so I used Xoom instead. The same fee applies if I picked it up anyway. But with an hour of transaction, on a Sunday (Saturday US time), both non-working days, I think there’s less hassle Xooming to the bank.

Xoom offers fast, reliable money transfers to all over the world at a great price from the convenience of your computer.

You’ve heard of life insurance and non-life insurance, I’m pretty sure. What’s the difference?

More than a decade ago I was selling life insurance then years later I was with a pre-need company. (Being with the insurance firm at that time I made my ICQ handle Life Provider. I had a 7-digit UIN which still exists now, though not much used as it had been before. If you use ICQ and do a search, if you see 2 accounts with Life Provider, both are mine.)

When we were starting and having the orientation. We were all asked, what’s the difference between a life insurance and a non-life insurance policy?

A life insurance policy answers your financial needs WHEN the inevitable happens while a non-life insurance policy answers your financial needs IF ever the dreaded event happens. With the current economic problem, don’t you think it’s better to have business insurance than without?

Online trading has been available on the net for several years now. I’ve heard of some people who are quite successful but I don’t know them personally.

Sadly, when something gets successful, the malicious evildoers will harness that strength. They try to scam people into trading with them, promising higher interest. I know some who have been scammed and they told the same story. While you trade low, they will give you your income but once you trade high, bye-bye to your money.

I still want to know more about it, though. And it looks like there’s a good place to start learning before diving. As for anything new like online trading, it’s best to test the waters always.

Many do not believe in life insurance. The primary reason is, if it’s your time, then it’s your time.

Although life insurance cannot bring back the life of the person, there is one thing that makes the problem lighter and easy to bear.

Usually, the person who gets life insurance is the person who works and earns for the family, although it is not limited to such. If there is one thing that’s sure, it’s our death. We shall all die. It’s just a matter of how and when.

When death takes over the person who earns for the family, not only did the life ended but so did the income. Right? With a life insurance policy, the income is secured despite the person’s loss.

That is why in deciding how much face amount to get, it must be that when you let it stay intact, the interest alone will be as if the beneficiaries are getting what used to be. For example, if you tender $5000 a month to your family, the interest of the face amount left in the bank will still be $5000.

If you haven’t yet, maybe it’s time to ask your agent for a term life insurance quote and see how you can secure your family’s financial future.

America had officially declared recession. Since people somehow knew that it existed since last year, the recent announcement was not that surprising.

The question now is, what do we do about it? Should we start saving more? Should we spend less?

Nay! Saving more than you used to will just add insult to injury. As a consumer, we can help in alleviating the economy by doing our share of spending so as not to suffer economic collapse. We cannot just let the government do everything. We need to do our part, and that’s buying.

by Cecile Cinco

“The Secret” is hot. Why not? It teaches you how to get rich! It’s not just getting rich but getting what you want.

The book is for sale but there are some videos and e-books that can tell you somehow the gist of the secret. You can have them yourself by going to the secret treasures. I’ve actually used the wallpaper entitled ‘I Promise Myself’ that’s actually the optimist’s creed by Christian D. Larson. I’m an optimist by nature so I loved it.

The gist is you can attract what you desire (getting rich, getting healthy) by being optimistic, believing it will happen and never allowing any negativity around and in you. I don’t see anything wrong with that. That is right.

What’s wrong then?

It dwelt TOO MUCH on SELF-reliance. (Where does relying on God come in?)

It gives you the idea that being poor is bad. (Has the author heard of ‘enduring unto the end’ and ‘trials’ that build a person’s godly character?)

It gives you the idea that you can get anything. (Is it God’s will, though?)

Christ even said that it is easier for a camel to enter the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God!

This secret is subtle. Just like when the serpent told Eve, “You will not surely die.” Yes, they did not die that moment but “sin is the transgression of the law” and “the wages of sin is death.” Death was only lifted up when Christ died for our sins. That gave us the opportunity to have eternal life. Without Christ, it would have been eternal death. The serpent was subtle….and so is this book.

Not all riches is good. Not all knowledge is good. You have to know how to discern otherwise you will fall in the same pit the first Adam fell into.
