One idea my husband implements is having everything in one place. As our living depends mainly on the computer, we ought to have one. Match it up with an internet connection and everything’s perfect for me. With that one computer hangs our digital entertainment so there’s no need for a separate TV or a radio. Continue reading »

Catch The Dragon’s Tail

October 11th, 2009

by Cecile Cinco

A few days ago, I hosted the Family Day during the Feast of Tabernacles here in Baguio City where we are stranded at the moment due to the landslides and broken bridges. During that Family Day, I called on the women. Twelve got on the floor including some seniors (my mom and another). The others are quite healthy but there are two who are quite heavy. Then I announced it would be the game Catch The Dragon’s Tail. Continue reading »

PS3 Slim vs XBox 360

August 21st, 2009

by Cecile Cinco

I haven’t bought yet xbox 360 yet and now a real competition is raging the news. Or is it?

Sony has lowered it’s price to par with Microsoft’s toy which sold twice as much than the former. Although it has gone smaller, slimmer, yet less games are available. I guess it’s like Mac vs Windows. Although I like the former, I can do more with the latter. Continue reading »

Do you have Facebook? Have you heard of Farmville? It’s a game where you are a farmer and you have a field to care for. In your field you plow, plant and harvest crops. You also get to be gifted animals like chicken, duck, cow, horse, goat, rabbit, pig, and sheep. Some can be bought too.

Farm applications are growing in number at Facebook. Continue reading »

About a month ago I attended an event about fashion. Several bloggers were invited including myself. In one incident, I was chatting with two of them and in our getting-to-know-each-other info exchanging I learned that one of them is a football player.

Assessing his stature, I thought it could not be, or it is unusual since he was rather small and petite for the football I had in mind. Besides, I didn’t know we had football at all!

It was then that I learned that soccer is called football here in the Philippines. All the while I was imagining American football. Since we understood each other at that moment, the chat became more interesting. His stature no longer mattered. In fact it was perfect for the sport. I wasn’t just able to ask how many soccer trophies he had already accumulated.

How To Give More Than One Gift To The Same Person Within The Same Day: Facebook’s Farm Town Gift-Giving Glitch

    June 4th, 2009

    by Cecile Cinco

Among the Facebook applications, Farm Town holds the record as the top 1 Most Frequently Played Game. At least, for me. There’s more to it than just clicking. It’s the closes to a real farm in terms of buying seeds, planting and harvesting. You get to choose yourself where and when to plant. You get others to harvest for you and they are paid or you can harvest it yourself. In addition, there is communication among the farmers. It’s a chat and play at the same time. You get to know people from other parts of the globe.

In addition to plain farming, you also get to beautify your farm with fences, houses, trees, flowers and even ponds. As you go up each level, some features gets unlocked. I’ve seen very beautiful farms. Although I can beautify mine now, I’ll wait till I can buy the largest farm I can buy. From level 15 and all the odd numbers till level 25, you get the option to buy land in addition to your existing land. Your farm gets bigger.

Farm Town gets addicting so if you haven’t started yet, don’t tell me I did not warn you. I just learned recently that there are even Farm Town cheats. It turns out that a matrix has been made to plot the price of seeds, the length of time it gets ready to be harvested, how long before each withers, how much to harvest and how much it gets sold for. Anyone can figure that out if given the time to spend on it. Somebody has done it, why reinvent the wheel, so to speak? My point is, that’s not a cheat at all.

I’ve done several searches and there exists a cheat. Actually several but the working one (as one claims) is a certain application you have to install. It makes your avatar 5x faster and other stuff it can do. I did not delve more into it because I don’t like it. It’s really a cheat. Though the fact that somebody was able to do it means the system is glitched. This glitch is selfish because it favors the player.

Gift-giving is glitched too but you don’t need anything else other than your browser to be able to send out more than 1 gift to the same person within the day. Besides, this glitch is outward. You give than receive. When you give, you don’t expect anything else in return but the natural law of giving compels the recipient to do the same. It would be the recipient’s choice to give in return or not.

So, you want to give more than what you can naturally give? Here’s how:

    1. log into your Farm Town

    2. click on Send Gifts

    3. open several new tabs or windows to show the Send Gifts page

    4. in each tab/window, choose the gift and the person/s you want to give the gift to but don’t click yet the final sending.

    5. when you are done with all tabs/windows, click each final Send button. If you did 7 tabs/windows, the person/s will receive 7 gifts.

How many can you send? It all depends on your computer’s memory. :)

It was in 1989. The Subic Naval Base in Olongapo still existed at that time. A couple (black American married to a Filipina) friends invited several of us young people in the Church to learn how to play golf. There were about 7 of us. It was exciting as I really wanted to know how to play golf. That time, playing bowling for about half a year, I thought that learning another sport was just a great opportunity. I knew golf is sport for the rich but since the door was open, why not grab it? Continue reading »

This week, Monday, I was able to get hold of my latest bowling trophy and cash prize for winning the Highest Pinfalls under the female category. The bowling tourney was sponsored by the PA Alvarez, the developer of the St. Joseph Series in Laguna. There were ten teams in all with 12 players each. There were a total of 5 games and our team lasted only up to the 3rd. It was on that 3rd game that I made my top score, 154. Two more weeks for the last 2 games but I did not mind about it since I had to attend to something else. Continue reading »

Yesterday I went to a client. As I was riding one of the jeepneys, sleepy, I was suddenly perked up by some kids who played along the busy road, running, trying to catch the jeepney!

It was a smooth travel at first, but when traffic got somewhat heavy, the fun for these kids began… Continue reading »

Ten-Pin Bowling: How To Count The Score

    September 2nd, 2008

    by Cecile Cinco

Since I learned how to play bowling in 1989, I had been a fan. Fan enough to do very well that my first trophy (champion among 100+ players) was attained within the first month.

It was just a fun game, though, one night 3 games, playing Double Dutch. My mentor was my partner. He taught me from scratch.  I was the avid student. In Double Dutch, for the first five frames, one will play the first ball and if it did not strike, the 2nd player will try to spare it. On the next 5 frames, a switch will be done so that the sparer will now be the first-baller. We each got a champ trophy then. I was ecstatic and inspired that I continued to do better. Yay! It’s the time of year again when I can play real bowling and not just what I play from Facebook!

Every year, for the 3rd time now, one of the housing developers I sell for holds an annual bowling tourney for all its agents ang brokers. An official entry of 12 per team is required, and there are 10 teams, if I remember correctly (senior moments kicking in again!).

I love bowling but Continue reading »

In my own family, we have started a habit. After dinner, around 6pm, when we are all watching news and some programs after that, my 2nd daughter will pull out our favorite boardgame with tiles of letters that scores variedly from 1 to 10, and depending where you place them, letters or words can score as is, double, or triple. Perhaps you know what I’m referring to: SCRABBLE. Continue reading »
