A few days ago I was confronted with several sites I visit with a message that I cannot be presented with the site due to my heavy use of the site. That happened when I haven’t been to those sites for at least a week. Hello? What’s going on?

I recalled that one of my blogger friends had the same situation and I know that another blogger friend, Joy from Notepad Corner was able to help so I went to her site. Alas, the situation is the same. Since I could access FB, I requested her to post the instructions there. She PM’d me instead. It did not work. Since she’s using Windows and I’m using Linux, she cannot help further. The key was my DNS should be flushed.

I searched Google for an answer. The one I found did not work either. Hubby arrived by that time and I presented him with the situation. To make explaining to him easy I simply asked him to make Notepad Corner appear by flushing the DNS. I was just about 2 minutes away from the computer and he announced that it is already showing. Amazed, I asked what he did. To my surprise, I had that why-did-I-not-think-of-that look! He simply used Bleachbit, which I often use when emptying browser caches. He simply had the cookies included. Toinks for me! I should have known that!

It wasn’t until today that I decided to pull together my earning sources. Why? Because I tend to forget the others. Also, some friends, online and offline, have asked me what I do to earn online and I just could not tell them everything because I haven’t organized them in a way that I would be able to show just one link and everything is there.

Also, I’ve gone back to PTC (paid-to-clicks) which I just got oblivious to, thus got lazy clicking, simply because of the disorganization of my accounts and my easily-bored self. Why I got back? I saw people cashing out.

Anyway, my earning sources link is now available in a more organized fashion. Just click on them and sign up and if you have questions, feel free to ask me.

In 1994, when I first got connected using 2.4Kbps modem, I learned to get the information I needed using Webcrawler (Google did not exist then) and since my modem is toooo slow, I learned to use Lynx, the textbased surfer. I even used email to surf then, getting images, freewares and sharewares.

A couple of years later, with a 14.4Kbps modem, I saw the internet with Netscape Navigator, along with several websites that sell, oftentimes with an MLM system. It was also then that I used the internet to learn more about Amway, which I was invited to join into…thanks to the internet I made an informed decision: not to join.

Now, almost everything, if not all, can be bought over the internet. Items you cannot find in your local store are online, even industrial hand wheels. You save gas mileage when you buy from the internet too.

by Cecile Cinco

Someone in my address book sent me an email and according to her she needs help. I haven’t really heard from her for a long time and when I did, she’s asking for help. At first glance, though, I knew her email address was hacked…and that someone can get scammed. How about the others in her address book who were sent the same email? Below is the screen shot of the email:

Now let’s analyze…

1. The email was sent to herself, which means I was sent a BCC, which means others were sent the same email.

2. She had an URGENT trip to far far away country. She really does go abroad so it does seem real.

3. She has not much time on the pc which means no way to chat.

4. All her money got stolen. She really needs money then.

5. Robbery incident at the hotel (what’s the name of the hotel?)…which could mean she’s not alone that was robbed since…

6. The telephone lines were disconnected (no way to call or be called).

7. She’s restless, hence, the composition of her email may be abnormal.

8. Her mobile phone won’t work where she is so she left her phone. No way to call her. I did try but was unable to connect. She has probably changed her number. We’re not close, by the way.

9. She’s asking for 1,200 pounds. That’s a lot of money and I don’t have that! It’s realistic, though, for her to return home.

10. She’ll refund it back. It’s but right, right? For a hacker, though, that means bye-bye.

11. She’s confused. Bear with her.

12. Send the money through Western Union. No way for dispute. Once the money is sent, in minutes it can be claimed.

13. I forgot to encircle the need for the name and address where the money is to be sent. Does it mean I can’t send it to her own name? Weird. So hacky.

This is the second time I received such an email…from people whose email addresses I know. I knew right away that it was hacked and I told him (the first) that his email was hacked. He confirmed because he could no longer open his email account.

Imagine this: your email got hacked and sent this kind of message to your address book list and several or even just one of them complied and you did not even get back to pay and you’re nowhere to be found…or if the hacker says thanks and bye-bye (in the name of the real person: you)…then you will be tagged as a scammer!

Knowing that such scheme exists is halfway the battle to be won.

I’m a Globe user. My SIM existed for more than 5 years now (I think…can’t really remember…when Smart started to charge for balance inquiry, that’s when I shifted to Globe. When was that? Anyone can remember? Since then, it’s the same number.)

Now with Globe Tattoo, my favorite features are the immortal text messaging (10 pesos for 50 txt messages to Globe and TM subscribers plus 10 txt messages to other networks) and accessing the internet via my phone (a mere ASUS V80) by time (5 pesos per 15 minutes). It’s the only mobile gadget I have. During the typhoon Pepeng, we were in Baguio City when it landfell thrice. Internet shops along Session Road and even at SM and Center Mall were cut off…but my Globe phone connection was fast. My phone was just limited to browsing email and Facebook, though, so I could not really surf.

If you’re using other mobile stuff like notebooks, or even if all you got is a desktop, you might want to try Globe Tattoo Broadband. No need to have anything installed as it is USB ready. In fact, it’s just as big as a USB flash drive. You can even choose from the Globe Tattoo Broadband New Skins to reflect your image.

It’s also a plus factor that with a Globe Tattoo SIM, the default browsing scheme is already time-based. With my phone, I had to convert being charged per Kb to per 15-minute chunks.

Also, although any network can be faster or slower depending on the location, with your Globe Tattoo Connection menu, you can always choose the network type (choose WCDMA preferred) to have a faster surfing.

Check out Mig’s experience using it with his laptop. According to him it’s faster than a 3G phone.

Here’s also a list of Globe Tattoo Broadband Gallery, for your scrutiny.

What’s common from among Ferrari, Maserati, and Lamborghini aside from being Italian names? They are all manufacturers of sports cars! Since there are not many sports cars as there are travel and everyday cars, they are very special. Very special indeed that if you own one, every eye could be looking at your car instead of you!

Being very special and less common has its problems too. For instance where are you going to buy a replacement should you need Ferrari parts, for example? Good thing we are living the internet age that everything is now within the reach of your fingers.

As someone who has been online for quite some time (more than a decade), getting disconnected is something that is not really that easy.

I love the internet. It jives well with my introvert nature. Writing better than speaking, I sure can manage well typing than talking to someone I haven’t really met face to face.

I love that some of my jobs can be done online. Actually, even my offline job is abnormally brought online. Abnormal in the sense that the normal people do it offline. I chose to do it online.

When my DSL got disconnected for financial difficulty, I had to work going to an internet cafe, just like what I do now. During this time, my flash drive is my best friend. Hopefully by Wednesday, I’m back online at home!

Now that the internet is the norm, almost everyone is accessing the internet for almost anything. Some do for fun, some for learning. While others do to buy they’re stuff, of course you can’t overlook those bought from–the sellers.

Not all websites meant to sell, do sell. It can be for many reasons, though…

- your product is not good
- your product is too expensive
- your site looks spammy
- your offer is too good to be true
- your website design sucks
- your website navigation sucks
- your website loads slow
- your website cannot make the top ten pages of search engines’ hits

One, some, or all reasons may be the culprit why your website cannot sell. What do you do? If what you’re doing is wrong, then you must correct it. If you always experience the same trial, perhaps you haven’t yet learned the lesson.

If that describes your website, perhaps it’s time to utilize conversion rate optimization. Simply put, the strategy makes your site sell.
