I have another friend who is already a veterinarian but he is no longer practicing even if there are veterinarian jobs available. It’s just that his mother left them with a business to manage. Instead of neglecting it, might as well keep it and let it grow..

Some detours in life are out of our control. The important thing is being joyful while taking the detour.

Are you looking for an administrative job (clerk, secretary, telecom operator, etc)? There are thousands available in the USA and Canada! You just need to know where to look and it’s available just under the tip of your fingers.

Beware, though, as some “employers” have posted jobs available virtually (you can work in your own home with your own computer and internet) but when I checked the details, it just brought me to their site with suggestions what you can do but offers no link to apply but ads are all over. They earn from your clicks but you don’t really get any job. Be extra careful when going for “virtual secretaries” or “online data entry” jobs. Some will even ask you to pay a one-time “processing fee” just to give you a list of sites where you can apply to which has no connection with the “employer.”

When looking for administration jobs, be wary of companies that state they are “confidential.”

Everyone is looking for a job. I suddenly recalled a joke:

Employer to employee: “You asked for a job, I gave you one. Now you’re looking for pay?”

Now, with that kind of mentality, you want to make sure, look for a job with pay!

Those without paying jobs are looking for one and those who hire try to lower the pay, as much as possible. Even with the labor law, many still manage to escape! Since the small guy is looking for money, he just accepts what is set before him. How pitiable!

At the time that nurses were the most needed jobs in America, many doctors in the Philippines took up nursing! Up until now, we have a lot of nursing students so they can land on a healthcare job…ultimately in America.

It’s sad they have to leave to make a living elsewhere when their skill is needed here more. What can we do? Unless the government does something with the salaries of people who are needed to stay, like doctors, nurses, teachers, police….the people who take care of the nation…they’ll always look for a greener pasture and go for it when opportunity arises.

As the President-elect Barack Obama said about the financial crisis during his first press conference…

“Tens of millions of families are struggling to figure out how to pay the bills and stay in their homes. Their stories are an urgent reminder that we are facing the greatest economic challenge of our lifetime, and we’re going to have to act swiftly to resolve it.”

What is our solution? How do we face this problem? One of the answers is to have more jobs available. You can search for retail jobs online and many of them would only require a high school diploma so you cannot reason out that you don’t have a college degree.

Most jobs available has something to do with merchandising. So as long as you know what you are selling (you’ll be trained for sure), the opportunity to earn is within your reach, provided you have that willingness to start with.

Never has it been that everyone got a job. The issue is always the rising rate of unemployment. One country is just worse than the other. What are we going to do about it? Are we just going to give up and stop looking?

Maybe, maybe not.

Sometimes we need to hunt for the job. For those who cannot wait, this is the usual solution. We turn in CVs to companies who are not even hiring at all and maybe sometime later they will. But it turns out that this is a longer process because you’re hitting on air, usually.

Another solution is create the job. Look for a need and supply the solution. This is usually the entrepreneurial method.

The most common is applying for what is needed. The sad part here, oftentimes, is the paper qualification. Companies will ask for credentials, what you have on paper, then test you if you really can do the job. Such is the going of the offline, corporate world.

It’s quite different now. Skill rules nowadays, and as fast as your data can pass from your computer to the other, those two basic ingredients will be your prime capital.
