Alcohol can be good and can be bad. With the rubbing kind, I go for ethyl. For the drink, a little brandy since it’s good for the heart. Much of it is bad…oftentimes, VERY bad.

There have been a lot of drunk driving accidents that have caused so much trouble not only to the drunk driver but also to the innocent others who happen to be at the exact place at the wrong time.

Is it really a wrong time? “Time and chance happens to them all,” as Ecclesiastes 9:11 states. “Everything works together for good to those who love God.” (Romans 8:28) Whatever our situation may be, we are tried, whether it feels good or it feels bad. (The lack of money is often looked at as a trial but riches is another kind of trial too!) The important point to realize is for every trial, there is a way of escape to be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

What if you took a sip of alcohol and you were chanced upon by an arrest for DWI (driving while intoxicated)? If you knew your rights, getting a DWI Lawyer may get you a way out. Remember though, God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. (James 4:6) :)

In 1991, while on a company trip to Mindoro to teach computer literacy, I was able to have the opportunity to learn how to ride a motorcycle. Since I was very good in pedalcycle, this new learning was quite easy. The person who taught me was riding with me. Besides, I could not ride alone since I had no driving license of any sort. During my week-long stay I became very good. On the 3rd day, actually, I was driving the highway at 75kph. But that’s the highway, plain straight and not much oncoming vehicles so that was quite easy.

In 1993 I  was back to Mindoro but as a personal trip. I, and my ex-boyfriend, were invited to attend a wedding and it was on a mountanous area. It was really a beautiful place. One of my friends brought his motorcycle. Another friend borrowed it. Craving for a ride I asked if we could ride together, me being the driver. He approved and we started enjoying the rough terrain trying to follow a less bumpy route. Little did we know that a cliff was just a few meters in front of us. When I squeezed the break we ended up a foot away from the edge.

It used to be that I wanted to own a motorcycle. When I got married, though, that changed. With so many accidents happening on the road I did not want to be one who would take that risk and strip off my kids of a parent. When my husband approved that we would buy one, I said no. He’s a very good pedalcycler too but never had the chance to drive a motorcycle.

Accidents do happen. In the news lately, many motorcycle drivers get into an accident, usually by drunk driving, though. They choose to be in an accident, somehow, because we all know that driving while drunk is against the law. The reason it was made against the law is the accidents drunk driving causes.

I may never be driving while drunk but there are also cases where other drivers are bad enough to nudge a motorcycle on driving along with them. That’s an accident caused by others. Still, accidents do happen. When you’re on two wheels, though, chance of survival is less. Chance of being hospitalized is greater so you would spend on hospital bills and you get less time for earning.

If you’re one who drives this two-wheeled vehicle, you should check on having one of those motorcycle accident attorneys. Just in case.

Lawyers have always been the laughing stock of many jokes sessions. Almost anyone who compiles jokes has at least one lawyer joke. I myself do not compile any joke nor do I remember most jokes. If I do, they are but a few…and I usually have to rephrase because I don’t remember the exact joke. Poor me. :( What lawyer joke do I recall? It’s about the skid marks that tried to miss the cat and not the lawyer. :D

Although lawyers’ reputation in general is somewhat bad because of those who chose to exercise their power over those who do not know the law, we still need them. Not only if you’re famous but more so if you’re nobody and your right has been trampled upon. Are you an immigrant? Will you be an immigrant? Perhaps you should know your rights and be ready to call for immigration attorneys (be ready with several in case the first you called is busy) so you can do so when you need to.
