Today is another learning time with Deo, the good person teaching me and my sister how to do neuro massage therapy.

There is one concept I’d like to share as it popped out my mind as a question. It was based on the premise that reflexologists who concentrate on feet or hands can diagnose your illness and give you relief just by giving pressure frequent and long enough to the specified pressure points. My question is, is that so?

The answer? Not.

The gist: the reason pressure points hurt when you have problem with, for example, your back, is spasm. If your back aches due to spasm, it is more likely that the pressure point under your feet aches too. If the reflexologists concentrate on the pressure point only, without relaxing the muscles and veins connecting the back and the pressure point, it will not be as effective to give relief. If the hand pressure point is hurting, the arms should be relaxed. If the nape is hurting, the upper portion of the back is connected to it.

Conclusion, the source is what should be treated, not just the hurting area which is more likely just the manifested area.
