It’s a fact. A statistic. That there are more women who fall victims to a liar/cheater men online than the other way around.

Online dating sites are good. The purpose is for people finding a friend or a mate is much easier and faster since you just click the mouse, as opposed to looking for the newspaper personal ads and send a snail mail. Either way (online or offline), the risk is just the same. Actually, it’s even safer online since the invention of the cam so you can see the actual person than a mere picture sent through pen pal communication. Well, I mean just the looks, at least.

You just can’t tell a liar or a cheater by just the two of you. You need others who know the person you are dealing with. Someone knows someone you know and with the internet, the world has just shrunk smaller.

Humanly speaking, people tend to put their best foot forward (side note: isn’t this grammatically wrong? Do we have at least three feet to have one good, better and best? hmmm…). We forget that the foot is often clad with a nice shoe. Only your family and close friends and some not-so-close friends could know that you probably have a corn or a dead toenail on that foot. Oh, the pedicure lady also knows about it…and you know about boutiques and beauty parlors (for men and/or women) are full of stories, true or not..but they spread like wildfire especially if it’s bad and stinky.

So before you date a guy you found online, do a search of the guy first. Make a screening. Ask around. Better yet, ask a dating expert or a relationship expert online that is actually a community that helps one another. You may be a guy and have a sister you know is into such find…let her know about this also. Or maybe your ex-girlfriend just dumped you for someone she saw online and it really hurts. Let her know about this also. You might just save the day.
