You may have heard “Stick and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.”

Is it true? I have never met anyone who has never been hurt even for once by words. “You are hurt most by the ones you love,” is true, though.

Many times we don’t mean what we hurtfully say but “out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” (Luke 6:45)

Watch the video and maybe one way or another you can identify yourself, whether as the hurt or the one causing the hurt.

Does it matter? Well, we all want to be respected, don’t we? If we give disrespectful remarks, can we reap respect?

You probably have heard the saying, “If you failed to plan, you planned to fail.”

With the economic crisis the whole world is experiencing, more jobs are sought than what is available. More are overworked for lesser pay. Both parents need to work to provide for the family, especially the children.

What if you still have a baby? How can you work? Leaving it to a nanny may be a solution but if you ask me, I’ll never leave my growing kids to a nanny. When I had my first baby, my mom offered to watch over her while I was at work as an employee. I’d bring her over to my mom’s house at 6am and come back at around 9pm.

On her third month, my mom gave up. If I had a Bob stroller, things would run differently. My mom gave up because she felt very tired. Since I didn’t like to have a stranger touch my family, I resigned on her 4th month and did what a mother should do: take care of her own child.

My hubby then was earning lesser than what I earned. But it’s not all about the money. The future of that little baby will be shaped by what she is during her developmental stage. Sure, I care for the money. We were considered poor. But we could eke out on the meager income that was cut more than half so we managed to live under God’s daily miracles. Besides, He promised to supply our needs daily.

Many would sort out to go out of the country, leaving the family behind, leaving a gap. Children with either or both parents out of the country, usually end up with emotional disorder. More often than not, the morality goes down the drain too.

There’s nothing wrong with being practical, nor it is wrong to plan for the future. I guess it’s just a matter of importance. What is weightier? Financial stability or moral stability?

The pilot had a heart attack he got blind. He was on air. He called for help and the only solution was to have another plane fly beside him. The blind pilot must believe and trust the guide.

In life, we often go blind. We usually blend in with the world, adapting to its moral decline. Unless we cry for help, we are sure to crash.

Watch the video and let me know your side of the issue.

I received a text message from my sister this morning, greeting us a happy anniversary. I suddenly tried to find my thoughts…what date is today? ohhh…it’s the 19th of September! (for those who would be reading this from the other side of the globe, I’m in the Philippines so my time is faster, just to remind you).

15 years of ups and downs, surely colorful and every day adds to the whole makeup. The bad things that happened are not bad at all. There are lessons learned and blessings gained instead.

Our differences complement each other while our similarities enhance. I can say that without him, I’m merely the worse half. So it’s very important that we all live under one roof…working abroad for a “greener pasture” is not an option if one will have to leave. It will be ok if the whole family will move, though. It’s family togetherness over money.

We call each other “Mahal” which is the Tagalog word for love.

Mahal, Happy 15th Anniversary! Thanks for everything especially your growing patience.
