You may have heard “Stick and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.”

Is it true? I have never met anyone who has never been hurt even for once by words. “You are hurt most by the ones you love,” is true, though. Continue reading »

Teachers Can Improve Despite Busy Schedule

February 20th, 2009

by Cecile Cinco

Next to one’s biological parents, teachers are considered the people who are the second mother or father of a child. Because of that general notion, most parents leave their responsibility of discipline to their kids’ teachers, whether realized or not. Teachers are complaining not because of the low academic reception of many students but because of the moral decline of these students which usually lead them to academic decline as well. by Cecile Cinco

Although I’ve always said that “whoever said that laughter is the best medicine has never had asthma,” still laughter has a lot to do to make our whole being lighter and brighter.

    - reduces stress, tension, depression, anger, etc

    - adds spice to life

    - makes you handle life’s challenges with ease Continue reading »

I’ve found at least four people quoting that a wrong decision is better than indecision or having the habit of indecision. All four share the same sentiment.

The risk of a wrong decision is preferable to the terror of indecision. (Maimonides)

Indecision is debilitating; it feeds upon itself; it is, one might almost say, habit-forming. Not only that, but it is contagious; it transmits itself to others. (H. A. Hopf) Continue reading »

Getting old is no reason for not improving one’s self. In fact, the more we get old, the more we should put some effort in improving ourselves. Be it learning a new skill or honing what we already have, still, there’s always room for improvement. If it isn’t so then we’re perfect. Continue reading »

“The Secret” Is Partly Right And Partly Wrong

    November 26th, 2008

    the secret
“The Secret” is hot. Why  not? It teaches you how to get rich! It’s not just getting rich but getting what you want.

The book is for sale but there are some videos and e-books that can tell you somehow the gist of the secret. You can have them yourself by going to the secret treasures. I’ve actually used the wallpaper entitled ‘I Promise Myself’ that’s actually the optimist’s creed by Christian D. Larson. I’m an optimist by nature so I loved it. :)

The gist is you can attract what you desire (getting rich, getting healthy) by being optimistic, believing it will happen and never allowing any negativity around and in you. I don’t see anything wrong with that. That is right.

What’s wrong then? Continue reading »

    Flying Blind

The pilot had a heart attack he got blind. He was on air. He called for help and the only solution was to have another plane fly beside him. The blind pilot must believe and trust the guide.

In life, we often go blind. We usually blend in with the world, adapting to its moral decline. Unless we cry for help, we are sure to crash. Continue reading »
