It takes 21 days to build a habit. While there are bad habits or tendencies that I would like to break, I should do something to build good habits in place of the bad ones so as not to create a void. With so much in mind, I end up merely thinking. I should make a formula for myself so it will work. I should have a specific goal and stick with it for 21 days at least so that by the end of the 21st day I should expect that the habit has been formed in me that it will already be automatic.

I was actually thinking of having another domain just for the habit-forming program. I was thinking of making a meme that is continuous, where anyone who would like to join the bandwagon will just add to it, sharing what good habit he or she is pursuing. With the many existing blogs that I have, I guess I’ll just use one of them. I still do not know which one.

Since I have a notebook (which my youngest daughter gifted me for my 44th birthday last 19th, I am not jotting down plans and to-do lists and information I should keep in mind. I tend to forget so I have to write it down now.

What can worry do? Can it solve your problem? It cannot! You ought to be focusing on the solution. Instead of worrying, though, relax! It will clear your mind and give your body a brushup, especially if you have one of those Adirondack chair sets.

I know where I put my stuff so when somebody else moves it, I know.

Hubby is different, though. From computer filing system where he has lots of sub-folders, to his electronic equipment at home (he always makes sure his cable management is always secure), he is organized. My weakness is his strength. With me, though, his patience is tried.

Some people have so much passion for something that they can tell, even from a distance, if such and such is for real while other “ordinary” people cannot.

For instance, mobile phones. With so many imitations, can you identify the real iPhone from the China-made one? With denim pants, I can have a Levi’s made to order if I want to. Would you be able to tell the difference if you’re a fan of Levi’s? With cigars that almost all look the same, can you tell whether it’s macanudo or maroma?

What’s your passion? How important is it that you can tell the difference of what you’re passionate about from others?

Are you the type of person who sees what’s wrong easily? What do you do then? Do you immediately tell others, immediately broadcast your complaint, ignore it, or try to solve it objectively?

What happens to the problem with your choice?

If you immediately tell others, you’re not just a fault-finder but also a put down others. Don’t you think people who hear you will “hate” you?

If you immediately broadcast your complaint, you’re a whiner, not necessarily putting down others so you stay atop the better-than-thou group.

If you ignore it, your patience is getting better every time you do so but it does not necessarily help solve the problem.

If you try to solve the problem objectively, that means not whining and not putting down others–just focus on solving the problem. That’s the fastest way to do so without spending much time in non-essential whining or mere complaining.

The American Dream has influenced not only the Americans but the other nationalities as well, including the Philippine people. Basically, it is to become rich and comfortable. Riches is relative. The more riches you have, the more relatives appear. Kidding aside, riches is in the mind. Although most would consider the wealth of money to be THE riches that will make them happy, many who reached the peak are not satisfied.

What is your dream lifestyle? Big mansion, push-button gadgets, shopping and partying with matching cigars as hobby, forex trading as income generator, bi-weekly visit to beauty salon, etc?

As for me, if I had loads of money, I guess I’ll just move to a more comfortable space that’s still easy to clean…no more than 100sqm floor area, have a room just for crafting/recycling, invest on healthy foods, the best DSLR camera, travel with just a backpack load with family, and anonymously give to the needy. I guess I’d rather not be known to be rich. I’d prefer liquid assets over solid. I’ll still be online, blogging, I guess.

What’s yours?

I remember a story about the excellent carpenter who was looking forward to retirement. For the last time, he was requested to build a house but for this last time he did his work in mediocrity just to finish and retire sooner than later. Little did he know that the house he just built was a gift for himself by his master. Had he known, he could have made the best of the best. He could have used all quality materials and perhaps installed schlage hardware. It could have taken more time to finish with all the intricacies and it could have been his masterpiece. Had he known.

There are times when we work just because we have to which tends us to work in a so-so fashion. If look at the bigger picture, though, we make things better. Who are we really working for? If we die today, what’s the last thing that we did? How did we do it? How are we going to be remembered by those we left behind? When we die, we bring nothing but character. How well have we developed?

“Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matthew 6:21)

Different people consider things differently. What is treasure to you may be trash to me, and vice versa. My question is, what do you do to amass more of that treasure?

If you’re in sales, your treasure would be more sales. If you’re an online worker, more jobs and probably more ad sponsors. And if you’re into real traditional treasure hunting, you’ll be out in some desert with treasure metal detectors to amass your treasure. If christianity is what overpowers your whole being, building character and your Bible is your treasure. One can be amassing treasure in different sources but there is one that anyone will focus on. What’s your focus?

by Cecile Cinco

Sleep was meant to be between 9pm to about 5am. In those hours, especially during the times between 9pm to midnight, those times are the best times for our bodies to repair naturally. It does repair itself, though, when we are asleep. It’s already 8:32 pm so I have a few more minutes before bedtime.

There is a case of a healthy man, who died in his early 50s. He had a healthy lifestyle as he exercised often, ate mostly natural foods, yet died young. He did not have any sickness or ailment. What went wrong? They found out that there is only one thing that differed. His workaholic lifestyle made him sleep beyond midnight to the wee hours of the morning.

If our body does not repair itself, how can we expect to have better immune system or better skin? So many ads come out because there simply is a market. If you want to know more about acne, click here so you can see some of the treatments you can take but there is no better treatment than avoidance itself. As the saying goes, prevention is better than a pound of cure.

The whole body gets better when you sleep early. You can think better in the morning. You can get up lighter and fast. You may be earning a lot better but you’ll die earlier. Some say that their minds work better in the wee hours of the morning but the mind can be trained to sleep earlier. After a week you’ll automatically get used to it that you’ll want to sleep than work over the internet, chat or go to Facebook and play your favorite Farm Town or Farmville game. I used to be a night owl but now I know better and feel sleepy now.

I need to live longer, take care of my body since this is just lent to me, to take care of my family. If I die despite my care, then that’s it but at least I did not die because I was careless of my body. I hope you can change that bad habit too…so you can live longer for the better things in life.

It was so jam-packed that men and women were standing on every spot one can stand on. Other men were even “hanging” by the door, their bodies out of the bus and just holding on to the handle on both sides of the door. That was way before the traffic rule that the door must be closed when driving through the highway was strictly imposed.

One of those hanging by the door was a macho man in a corporate attire. He was quite big, stocky, muscled. Then the rain suddenly fell. “Ay nakwoo! Ano va yan! Navavasa akwoh!” (Gay speak of “Oh no! What’s that!? I’m getting wet!”) Those by the window that saw him could not only hide their chuckle…including myself. It was just unexpected! Not the rain, but his action!

It seems to be a waste of effort, being all manly yet you’ll find out later that he’s girly! Some real men would even go for natural male enhancement to be manly enough because they seem not so. How they’d wish they got that from that macho body who got wet under the rain!
