iPhone Apps: Everything In Your Hand (Almost)

September 8th, 2010

by Cecile Cinco

i Phone apps will be the main reason why I would buy an iPhone…if ever I can afford one. Imagine everything (almost) within your hand…so reachable!

It was in 1999, if I remember right, when I had my first mobile phone or cell phone (as it is more commonly called here in the Philippines). It took us months to canvas the internet to find the best within our budget. We got a Nokia 5210. We got it for its durability (shock proof, in case it drops) and size (small, can fit the pocket with ease), in addition to the capability to send text messages, of course. Continue reading »

Lift Yourself Up With Ease

September 3rd, 2010

by Cecile Cinco

As we age, our bodies deteriorate, especially if we have been lax when we were much younger to be strong and agile. At 43, I’m not yet considered old to feel those back pains, knee joints hurting when walking up the ladder, and my finger joints hurting even when I don’t crack them!

I’ve been sportive when I was younger. Cycling, swimming, volleyball, hiking, bowling! And yet, here I am with all these aching joints! It is difficult in the morning when I get up because my lower back hurts! Continue reading »

As I have mentioned in my other blog (c5says.com), I’d like to have a netbook so it’s not too big that it can be mobile yet it’s not too small that typing is not much of a strain. Continue reading »

I’m not sure if I only missed it but I don’t remember noticing any cash register that has slots so its operator can merely shoot in the checks, debit/credit card receipts, and other pertinent papers inside the compartment that’s got its own lock. Continue reading »

It used to be that when you want to play with something, you’d go to your toy room. Such was the case of our generation (born earlier than the 70s).

Now, everything seems to have gotten smaller and smaller that you can bring everything you need in your handbag or backpack. Continue reading »

In my locality, there are still grocery stores that are inefficient. They manually enter the price into the cash register creating a long line of customers waiting for them to be served. When I see a long line even before I enter the store, I usually end up not going in and look for another store instead that will not take me long just to pay. Result? Lost customer. Not at all times, though. You still have to weigh between good and evil. Definitely, good will overcome evil, even if it takes a little while longer.

What I meant with the title is the online commerce or e-commerce technology. Now, even small businesses can beat the big ones because they too can have the capability to Continue reading »

    Getting Mobile

We are, with no doubt, in the mobility technology state of mind. As we get busy, running and flying from one place to another, at the same time wanting everything to be under our fingertips, mobility technology seems to be the answer to our communication needs.

About two years ago when the ASUS EEE PC got into the market, we wanted to buy one. It was the time when hubby wanted to go blogging as well and he can’t use what I’m using. Continue reading »

What is hard water? Point-blankedly, my daughter answered: ice! :D

Kidding-aside, it is the most common water we have that comes out of the tap. It’s also what comes out of the well and even rain. It is very good for cleaning and watering (plants and trees) but it makes your kettle form lime. Life expectancy gets shorter for washing machines, dishwashers and water heaters. It is so primarily because of calcium and magnesium. Continue reading »

One idea my husband implements is having everything in one place. As our living depends mainly on the computer, we ought to have one. Match it up with an internet connection and everything’s perfect for me. With that one computer hangs our digital entertainment so there’s no need for a separate TV or a radio. Continue reading »

    Maximize Available Technology

    October 8th, 2009

Technology is something that’s supposed to make our lives easier. While not all will not have all the features all at once, generally technology makes things instant, faster, and available what could have not been without it.

For instance, the internet made the world smaller. Communication has been more available than ever, at a fraction of the cost of the old school like landlines or even mobile phones. Continue reading »
